LETTERS: Let us all celebrate Chinese New Year (CNY) with responsibility as we are not out of danger yet with regard to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This is important since we are allowed to celebrate the festivities and interstate travel makes it possible to meet family and friends.
However, we must not throw caution to the wind and lower our guard in our fight against the Covid-19 virus.
This means adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOP). We have been through it together before. The SOP are not in place as an annoyance or hindrance to us.
We know that the ultimate price paid for non-compliance is with human lives. Let us also help the authorities bring down positive cases.
The Health Ministry has already warned of an impending Omicron variant wave. This is a clarion call for all of us to beef up our defence against the virus.
On top of adhering to the SOP, we should also heed the advice of the authorities and take the Covid-19 vaccination booster shot.
It is also wise to take a Covid-19 self-test using the Rapid Test Kits before returning to our hometowns and back to the cities later.
It is much more affordable now. This helps control the spread of the virus.
It is the very least one can do.
It is our unity as a true Malaysian family that will see us battle through this pandemic together and come out the victors.
